Since 2003, the sharp BMW X3 SAV lineup has offered BMW patrons all the adaptability of a crossover with a bit of added sporty spirit. Now, the automaker is set to expand its X3 family with a new entry-level, efficient option for Europe: the BMW X3 sDrive 18d.

The X3 sDrive 18d is one of the most efficient crossovers offered in the market today and was designed with economical and ecological motives in mind. It hypes an impressive 55 miles per hour fuel economy rating and is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbodiesel found in its BMW X1 sibling. The BMW X3 variant produces 143 hp and 266 pound-feet of torque.

As a complement to its conservative turbodiesel engine, the fuel-saving machine also comes with green technology such as Brake Energy Regeneration, an Optimum Shift Indicator, Electric Power Steering, ECO PRO mode and Start-Stop. Mix all these together and you get a comparatively low carbon emissions rate of only 142 g/km.

Now, Hendrick BMW Northlake should point out that though we did label the auto's underpinnings as "economical," BMW hasn't amended out a bit of its premium equipment. Drivers of the X3 sDrive 18d will enjoy standard, best-in-class features including leather upholstery, 17-inch alloy wheels, and the BMW iDrive 6.5-inch color screen.

As we mentioned earlier, company officials plan to launch the BMW X3 sDrive 18d in Europe only and will not be available here in Charlotte. We invite you to stay tuned for more new BMW vehicle information and bring your questions to our BMW Dealership anytime.
