In order to really work on growth and goal achievement, you sometimes have to call on the assistance of others and this is exactly what BMW has decided to do. The automaker recently signed an agreement with Toyota Motor Company (TMC), outlining the goals that the partnership will focus on in order to develop future products and technology. Here at Hendrick BMW Northlake we are excited to uncover the details for all of you in the Rock Hill, Greensboro, Rock Hill and Hickory areas.
The two automakers have decided to collaborate on four different goals. Development of fuel cell technology is the basis of the first. By exchanging ideas, BMW and TMC hope to streamline a hydrogen fuel cell system and make it possible for this type of eco-friendly and efficient vehicle to become a part of the new BMW inventory by 2020.
The second goal is to develop a new mid-size sports vehicle that the automakers hope to finalize by the end of the year. This model will include the latest technology that can produce a vehicle that offers great performance, efficiency, and innovation to drivers. In conjunction with this goal, the automakers also plan to further explore lightweight technology. By using cutting edge composite materials, we could see a greater selection of lightweight BMW parts become included in future models.
Building further on technology, the final goal of the BMW and TMC is to improve the efficiency of lithium batteries, giving them a greater energy density. The common link to all of these goals seems to be centered on creating vehicles that are both energy efficient and eco-friendly. We are looking forward to how this partnership develops to make these goals possible.
