To embellish its high-performance M Division further, BMW will be launching a new smartphone app that has all of us at Hendrick BMW Northlake quite excited. Becoming available to Apple iPhone users this summer, the M Power App will provide drivers with an easy and efficient way to track performance on both the street and race track.
While the launch of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe was taking place, the automaker demoed the app to give us a closer look at how it actually works. Essentially it is able to use in-car sensors to collect data regarding how a vehicle performs. It then displays a track map which shows acceleration, braking and head-to-head comparisons.
That's not all the app can do however. It also displays a detailed line graph that informs you of brake and throttle input, engine speed, g-force and fuel mileage. Another smaller display on the screen even shows steering angles, lap times and speeds. The collected data can then be used for instructional purposes, or to simply gloat to your friends about how amazingly fast your vehicle is.
If you currently own a BMW M model and are an iPhone user, then you definitely won't want to miss out on this app once it becomes available. With the performance tracking M Power App, you'll be able to have more fun with each and every driving experience.
