With all of the updated new BMW models being added to the lineup, here at Hendrick BMW Northlake we remain dedicated to bringing you all of the details regarding what we can expect. The 2013 BMW X5 is the latest addition coming our way, so let's take a closer look.

While many of you may be surprised to see that the new CUV looks quite familiar, this is because a majority of the enhancements were made to the interior of the vehicle. The biggest change is actually the addition of the BMW X5 sDrive35i model, the first rear-wheel drive version of the five-door model to ever be designed. It features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that can generate 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque when coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to BMW, this combination can power the model from 0-60 miles per hour in just 6.2 seconds. Drivers will be able to still choose the all-wheel drive variant as well, which offers the same powertrain.

For drivers in the greater Charlotte, NC area and beyond who crave a little more power, there is also the option of the BMW X5 xDrive50i. It sports a 4.4-liter V8 engine and cranks out an impressive 445 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. When this powertrain is also paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds.

To complete the series, the BMW xDrive35d continues to offer the diesel option. It generates slightly less power with 225 hp and 413 pound-feet of torque. We can expect it will however offer more speed than the 2013 model.

As the launch of the BMW X5 series draws closer, we will be sure to keep you updated right here on our BMW blog so you can be the first to learn when they become available!
